Reports to/Supervisor Title: Development Associate
COCA is looking for a motivated intern interested in assisting our Development Team in all areas of fundraising, including: grant writing, donor cultivation, donor research, database management, and event planning.
The Development Intern will gain professional experience working for the 4th largest community arts organization in the United States, focusing on all functions of a development department for a not-for-profit organization, including: grant writing, donor recognition, donor solicitation, and planning and executing fundraising events. Various responsibilities may include: sponsorship solicitation and management, database management, the creation of invitation packages and event marketing materials, registration tracking, grant writing activities, budget management, management of fundraising auctions and other duties as needed.
Applicants must have exceptional interpersonal, writing and organizational skills and must possess an exemplary attention to detail. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, are a must. Graphic design and/or photography skills are a plus.
This internship is a minimum of 10 hours a week, Monday – Friday, some weekend or evening hours may be required. The internship lasts approximately 12 weeks – a specific start date can be flexible based on applicant’s schedule. This is a non-paid position.
