Developed for students interested in exploring various aspects of the profession with technical instruction, observation and networking opportunities, students will experience the elements of a professional career. In addition to professional actors Shanara Gabrielle and Pete Winfrey, students will meet and learn from a variety of St. Louis theatre professionals and visit on-camera and voiceover studios, a theatre rehearsal and an agent’s office. Instruction will focus not only on increasing technical skills in acting, voice/speech and theatrical movement but also on head shot considerations, resume building, audition strategies suited to various settings, working with an agent, managing on-camera and voiceover assignments and better understanding the day-to-day life of a working actor. Participants should come with a fully prepared monologue and will leave with a clearer sense of where their interests and talents fit into the field.
