Event Description

COCAbiz is proud to offer powerful communication skills, modules run by top teaching artists and business facilitators.

In Speak the Speech, you’ll work with an actor to build confidence, develop authentic presence, and manage nerves through breath, posture, and gesture exercises. Learn to adapt your physical persona to engage authentically with audiences from 5 to 500.

About the Instructor:

Lee Anne Mathews’s involvement in the theatre reaches from directing, acting and teaching to stage management and producing. She received her BFA in Theatre from the University of Nevada, Reno and has performed in venues from Toronto to Tokyo and from Alaska to Florida. She has been nominated for a Kevin Kline Award and a Tampa Bay Theatre Award for Outstanding Performance in a Musical, and locally she has also worked for the Muny, Shakespeare Festival of St. Louis, New Jewish Theatre, St. Louis Actor’s Studio and many more. Lee Anne has been the Director of Theatre at Crossroads College Preparatory School in the Central West End since 2011, and was honored with the  Maryville University Teacher of the Year Award in 2014. She is a member of Actor’s Equity Association.
