We are thrilled to present a wonderful season of theatre designed for families to enjoy together in COCA’s 25th Anniversary Year. We have grown and evolved over the years, but the COCA Family Theatre Series remains near and dear to us, and we thank you for your interest and support throughout the seasons.
In honor of our milestone year, we commissioned the talented hip hop teacher and choreographer Redd Williams to develop a one-hour performance that represents the high level artistry and the youthful enthusiasm that so often define COCA’s programs. After a community-wide audition, Redd is now working with
an ensemble of talented performers to create a piece that will resonate both with children and adults. We know you won’t want to miss hip hOZ!
Also on the bill this season is the beloved Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia, returning to COCA in Guess How Much I Love You and I Love My Little Storybook. Mermaid Theatre is one of the most highly rated theatre companies by our audience members, and we look forward to this gentle, magical piece. Fans of last season’s Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters will delight in Dallas Children’s Theater’s The True Story of the Three Little Pigs. For the first time, you and your children will hear the other (the wolf’s) side of the story! The Gruffalo, by the impressive Tall Stories Theatre Company of London, is based on the award-winning picture book and is full of “scary” fun. Scotland’s Visible Fictions brings The Mark of Zorro for one day only to COCA, and the hilarious performers in The Passing Zone prove that gravity isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. And you can’t help but smile at John Tartaglia’s ImaginOcean, a glow-in-the-dark fish story that ran Off-Broadway last year.
We hope you join us for these national and international favorites as well as COCA’s original productions. Thank you for helping us
celebrate a tremendous 25 years!
