Tommi Rogers has been working with preschool children for more than 26 years. Tommi has a degree in Early Childhood Education and is certified at Level Two through the Early Childhood Music and Movement Association (ECMMA) and has completed Level One Orff-Schulwerk training. Since 1998, Tommi has been the Pre-Primary Music and Movement Specialist and Kindergarten/First Grade Bodily Kinesthetic Specialist at New City School and for the past 15 years has spent her summers as a teaching Artist for COCA. Tommi is an active member of the Early Childhood Music and Movement Association (ECMMA), American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD), Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE), and the St. Louis Chapter of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association (AOSA). She served as a Physical Activity Consultant for Head Start Body Start – National Center for Physical Development and Outdoor Play. Tommi has presented workshops to early childhood educators on Looking at Sensory Integration and Incorporating More Movement into the Classroom. Tommi is passionate about sharing her knowledge on the importance of movement in young children with parents and educators. She brings her passion, energy and love for children everywhere she goes. When she is not busy with young children, you will find Tommi hiking and Geocaching with her family or enjoying a vigorous session of water aerobics.
