Adapted from the celebrated Broadway musical, this rousing Calypso-flavored tale follows one small girl who finds love in a world of prejudice. Through almost non-stop song and dance, this full-hearted musical tells the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island.
Students should prepare 32 bars of a song and bring sheet music, a resume and a head shot/photo. Participation is competitive and by audition only. Students cast are asked to pay a participation fee of $595. Financial assistance is available. Campers cast in this production will spend three weeks (July 22–August 9, during the COCA camp day) rehearsing, then perform the show complete with set, lights and costumes on August 9 & 10, 2019 at Washington University’s Edison Theatre.
