Children creatively express themselves through collage self-portraits that celebrate their identities. They also enjoy books that celebrate their unique gifts and talents such as Incredible You, I Am Enough and I Love My Hair as they move and practice pretend play to launch their interest in art, theatre and dance.

About the Instructor:
Alicia Like is a teaching artist with St. Louis’ COCA – Center of Creative Arts, empowering children and youth to express themselves, be creative and be the stars they are truly meant to be. A native of Kansas City, Missouri, Like is a proud graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelors of Arts in Music. Soon after graduation, she found herself in her hometown cast in a great selling production of The Wiz at the Coterie Theatre, one of America’s top theatres for young audiences. Following the production, she continued her work with the Coterie through their Dramatic AIDS Program, helping to educate students in classrooms (8th through 12th grade) on the truth about HIV and AIDS. Once she moved to St. Louis, her interest in theatre expanded and she began working with well-known theatre, The Black Rep. She has been blessed to play the roles of Camae in the regional premiere of The Mountaintop, Luttiebelle in the musical Purlie, and AuntScandalicious7 in the world premiere of An Invitation Out with Mustard Seed Theatre.
