Pete Winfrey is a St. Louis-based actor, singer, and teaching artist. As an actor, he has worked with a number of companies including Shakespeare Festival St. Louis, Metro Theater Company, Upstream Theater, New Jewish Theatre, and The Black Rep. He has received numerous accolades for his work: in 2015, St. Louis Post-Dispatch Go Magazine named him a Rising Star in the arts community. Additionally, he has been nominated for several St. Louis Theatre Circle Awards and shared the award for “Outstanding Ensemble in a Comedy” with his cast-mates in The 39 Steps in 2016. As a teaching artist, he is very excited to return to COCA for his fourth summer session. Pete has led classes, camps, and workshops in musical theatre, auditioning, monologue preparation, acting for the camera, dramatic play, character development, Shakespeare’s language, and character education inspired by Shakespeare’s plays. He holds a BA from Washington University and studied acting at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London.
