It’s the 20th anniversary of COCA Summer Musicals, and we’re planning a spectacular celebration!
Over the past two decades, COCA Summer Musicals have been a source of inspiration, talent, and community. From the first read through to the final bow, these productions have showcased the immense creativity and dedication of our students, staff, and alumni. Contributions from our alumni have played a significant role in the success and growth of this program, and we want to honor that legacy.
To commemorate this special milestone, we’re planning an incredible production of The Color Purple that will feature alumni and current students on stage together. On opening night, we’ll host a special alumni event that includes tickets to The Color Purple and a party following the show, so that our alumni have the opportunity to reconnect and celebrate with us. Tickets for this event are $50. Purchase your tickets here.
We invite our alumni to participate in this celebration:
- If you are interested in being on stage in a role, we are holding auditions on January 6–7. Audition Information & Details
- If you are unable to commit to the entire rehearsal process, we welcome alumni who wish to participate in the finale of the show. We will host a rehearsal on Thursday, July 18, after that you can join us on stage at any of the scheduled performance dates during the finale.
- If being on stage is not your preference, we have a special alumni ticket available for Friday, July 19. For $50, you can enjoy a ticket to the show and join us for a reception afterward. The proceeds from the alumni tickets will directly support future COCApresents productions. There is a “pay it forward” option for those who can support additional alumni tickets. If you are interested in attending and unable to purchase a ticket, please contact Cameron Tyler at ctyler@cocastl.org to be put on a list for “pay it forward tickets.”
- If you aren’t able to join us for our anniversary events, we would love to feature any memories, photos, or stories you’d like to share for a commemorative project. Your experiences are an essential part of the COCA Summer Musical legacy, and we’d love to feature them in our celebrations.
