Musical Theatre Program

Musical Theatre Hadestown
The Musical Theatre Program within COCA’s Pre-Professional Division (PPD) is designed for students who want rigorous training to prepare them for a professional career in musical theatre as well as for students who want an intensive style of conservatory training.
Cinderella
Musical Theatre students ages 12–18 years old develop their skills and technique in singing, acting, and dancing while gaining confidence both on and off the stage. Students receive personalized guidance and industry-informed instruction through a weekly rehearsal class where they develop technique for performing in classic and contemporary musicals, engage in workshops with professional guest artists, and train with COCA’s Artistic Directors. To participate in COCA’s Musical Theatre Program, students must successfully gain placement through an audition.

Additional Opportunities for Musical Theatre Students

COCA student performance opportunities are available to the general public, but COCA Musical Theatre Pre-Professional Division students who participate in companies and attend their required classes are able to go directly to callbacks in these audition processes. Students cast in these productions pay a participation/training fee. Sliding scale tuition is available for eligible students. Watch for audition notices to learn more about the specific timing.
